Bodrum is a city, exactly a port city, in the province of Muğla, Turkey. It is located at the entrance of the Golf of Gökova, in the Bodrum Peninsula. The city has a rich history, being founded by Dorian Greeks, in the ancient era. Until the 20th century, the economy of the city was based on fishing and sponge diving. Now, the times had changed and Bodrum became one of Turkey’s tourism hot spots. The huge number of visitors, brought major changes in the economics of the town. The retail and service industry also encountered a boom.
But not entirely the city of Bodrum plays the main role in the tourism empire that has been built. The entire Bodrum peninsula is the place where a lot of people choose to spend some days away from home. The peninsula expands 42km into the Aegean Sea.

1. Picture-perfect view
The Bodrum peninsula has an incredible mountainous terrain. This means that almost everything is built on the hills. Many resorts offer incredible sea-view, but in this area expect the picture-perfect view, when mountains meet the sea.
2. The Water
The peninsula expands into the Aegean Sea. Turquoise calm, water is what you should expect. This is the perfect spot for snorkeling, swimming and practicing water sports. I would recommend trying parasailing. It is very popular in this area and you have the chance to admire the coast line, the mountains and resorts. The water temperature in summer is about 25-28 Celsius in the summer months, so it is perfect for a swim.
3. The interconnecting towns
Travelling around the whole peninsula, is very easy and exciting. All the main cities and villages are interconnected. All of this have been made for an incredible tourism infrastructure. The whole Bodrum area is very drivable and it is also a pleasure. The incredible scenery and perfect roads make it incredible to drive around.
All the cities in the Bodrum area have something to offer. Even the bazaar moves from city to city each day, according to a schedule.

5. The Luxury
If you choose a 5 stars resort, expect luxury. Even the parking lot is beautiful and well decorated. They will greet you in an amazing lobby and serve you a fresh welcome drink. The rooms are perfectly clean and spacious. The food and drinks are just another level. Expect the best and you will get it.
Our experience
For us, Bodrum is the “How to:” in the all-inclusive resorts industry. We’ve tried many places, but nowhere is like in Bodrum. It is not an emotional story to connect, I’m just talking about our experiences in the resorts. For us, the resorts in Bodrum were the best, in terms of services and amenities.
In 2017 we’ve been to Voyage Türkbükü, a 5 stars, ultra-all-inclusive,16+ resort. One of the main features of this resort was that it had private villas, build on the hills, in a garden/forest. The food was incredible and the resort was premium.
