The Atlantis Experience
Atlantis, The Palm is one of the most emblematic and amazing hotels in Dubai. Its architecture is worldwide known and it became one of the symbols of this city. Atlantis is a total experience, it’s like a town inside a town.
One of Dubai’s most recommended and also incredible experience, is to enjoy the Atlantis Resort. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the opportunity to stay a night or two in the hotel, as their regular rooms were sold out and the suits were way over budget.
You can also enjoy what this resort has to offer, even if you don’t book a hotel room. Atlantis, The Palm is more than a hotel, other important thing is that here you will find the world’s largest waterpark.
The Waterpark and the Aquarium
The record-breaking Aquaventure, is the centerpiece of Atlantis. It is the world biggest waterpark with its 105 slides and attractions, some of which are also record-breakers. Coming here is a great idea for all group ages and the fun is guaranteed.
The Lost Chambers Aquarium is a huge aquarium inside the Atlantis complex. It hosts more than 65 thousand marine animals and has almost every time, twenty exhibitions opened. Another interesting thing to do, for those who dare, is to enter the tank and be surrounded by sharks and manta rays.
Price and Location
The waterpark and aquarium are located inside the complex of Atlantis, The Palm. The emblematic resort was built at the top of the iconic The Palm Jumeirah.

It is very easy to reach and, as very popular spot in Dubai, the infrastructure near it is amazing. You can get there with the metro, it has a station right at the entrance of the complex. Other options are with a taxi or with your rented car. You don’t have to worry about parking, because at the entrance, near the metro station, you can see a huge parking lot for visitors.
For hotel guests, the admission at the waterpark and aquarium is usually free. If you prefer to spend your nights somewhere else, it will usually cost around 350 AED per person. Some offers will give you a day pass to the aquapark and also to the aquarium. It all depends whether you go on high season or not, during weekends or not.

Our Experience
Trying to escape the September Heat in Dubai and for being in our top things to experience list, we booked 2 full day passes for Atlantis. Initially, only one day spent here was in our plans, but an offer popped in our email. Actually, thinking about it now, it was quite a great offer. If you paid with a certain card, you can get one extra day and free entrance to the aquarium.
Honestly, we are so thankful that we spent two full days here. For us, those days, are our top memories from Dubai. We really put it on top of our list, because we enjoyed every second spent here.
Probably, no slide or attraction was not tried by us. They are all super fun and sometimes challenging. Both days had the same pattern: slides, slides, lazy river, eat, repeat.
The Shark Tank Slide
It is something unforgettable. If anyone has the opportunity to come to Dubai, please spend a day at this waterpark and go directly for the Shark Tank Slide.
To be honest, at the beginning I was quite scared. In my head it was a totally different situation and I would end up surrounded by gigantic sharks. Of course, my husband being the one who tries everything and enjoys everything, he went first. At his return, I could see his happy face and even, quite far away from me, he started making hand gestures to go with him again.
All I could say is that it was amazing. No, no shark will touch you and you won’t even share the same water with them. The slide goes through the shark tank and is completely covered. The amazing thing is that you have the sensation that they are near you, because the slide is transparent.
The Lazy River
They have the best lazy river in the world. It is not the usual river, where you relax and enjoy a break. This is a crazy river, not at all lazy. Waterfalls, rocks, waves and everything you can think of is there. The feeling is more like you are rafting on a river.
The Lost Chambers
The only thing missing from here is Aquaman. The most incredible aquarium, ever visited by us. The best comparison is that, you are captive in an underwater story, wandering around a storybook world.
Their exhibitions are very complex, also very well designed. The architecture, the Ambiental lightning and the multitude of colorful fish is unbelievable.
Top experience in Dubai
Whether you want to escape the heat or just to have fun, here is the place to spend a full day, worrying about nothing and feeling like a child. For us, it is the No 1 experience in Dubai, and one of the best in all the places visited so far. If we would ever return to this city, we will for sure book a room at this Hotel, for at least 3 nights, to make sure we will soak enough and have repeatedly fun.
