Our First Choice as a Honeymoon Destination

The Honeymoon Destination
The honeymoon is actually a celebration of your love and the ideal way to relax after planning your perfect wedding. It is the moment you get rid of stress, high emotions and big decisions.
I am quite a maniac when I have to do something and it was also the case for our wedding. After two years of planning, we were in desperate need for a perfect honeymoon.
The destination
We had an October wedding. Actually, today (October 6th) we celebrate our anniversary. Four lovely years had passed and a week from now, we celebrate the anniversary of our lovely honeymoon.
As we love warm weather, exploring and discovering new things, but we also needed to relax, the decision was easy. For us, it screamed BALI. Honestly, it was on my bucket list for a very long time and couldn’t wait to get there.
Nothing seemed more perfect than Bali. Maybe for people outside Europe, that live closer to the island, it is a normal destination. But for us, it is quite far away and not heard often as a honeymoon destination. Some travel agencies sell packages here, but for just 7-9 day and we wanted to stay two weeks.
Was it a good idea?
I don’t know if we fell in love with the island, just because we have spent our honeymoon there, or the island is just magical. Now, Bali owns a piece of our hearts. We enjoyed every second there.
Bali is paradise. This beautiful island is the ideal combination between a relaxing vacation and an adventure. You can go and do things every day and not get bored, but you can also relax at the beach or near the pool, while sipping on a fresh juice.
The frangipani and incense sticks scent, the fresh fruit, the people, the temples and their way of life, will drag you like a magnet. If I think about it, that specific Bali smell, instantly pops and the beautiful orchids growing on the trees are eternally present in my mind.
Bali for the soul
Our honeymoon, was only for two weeks. We were constrained by different things to return home. The only things that we regret about our honeymoon, is that we couldn’t stay longer. We loved our time there so much and every single day we did something new.
Our first week was spent in Ubud. From here we had the opportunity to explore some parts of the island. It was probably the most exciting week. We have discovered the Monkey Forest, the rice fields, waterfalls, Balinese food, amazing temples and beautiful people.
The second stop was Nusa Dua. Because it was a honeymoon destination, we wanted something more private and to relax. Our hotel choice was Amarterra Villas and we do not regret it and recommend them from our hearts. The services and the hotel were impeccable. Of course, us being us, even though we had a few days just to relax by the pool or at the beach, sunbathing or having massages, we couldn’t stand still. From Nusa Dua, we enrolled in a full day of water sports, in a town nearby.

We love Bali
Every second spent there is precious to us. Everything was transformed in such a beautiful memory. I would like to always speak the truth and write the truth, so that I have to admit that I have cried. Yes, I’ve cried. In the moment our plane departed from Denpasar to Jakarta, to return home, I’ve started crying. My heart was broken that our perfect honeymoon was over. In that moment, we have promised each other that we will return. For us…Bali is perfectly Travelicious.
