Shopping in Istanbul – Baby Edition

Istanbul is the only city in the world that lays on two continents. This mega city, is one of the worlds biggest urban areas (the biggest in Turkey) and its continued development breaks every imaginary limit. Here you will find three massive bridges over the Bosphorus, one underwater car tunnel and also an underwater metro line, that will take you from Europe to Asia and return.

The former capital of the Byzantine Empire, explodes history, culture and art. It is one of the most amazing cities one can ever see.

To satisfy the needs of the millions living here, impressive infrastructure was provided. Istanbul is, besides its normal tourism, also a medical tourism hot point by having an incredible developed health sector.

Want more? Oh yes!

In our opinion, Istanbul is the shopping capital of Europe. Everything you think of, is easy to find here. From high end fashion, to new cutlery to bring home, Istanbul is ready to serve you. Because I could honestly write a book about shopping in Istanbul, I have divided the “Istanbul Shopping Guide” in several parts. Each part will provide important details for every category. I will cover everything, from the Grand Bazaar to baby clothes and wedding dresses. Once a month, in a Sunday, a new part of the shopping guide will be posted.

Future parents?

I don’t think that there’s somebody who would not melt while seeing cute little baby clothes. Future parents have other levels of excitement, especially that they will be dressing their child.

If you are a parent to be, or just have lovely tiny humans in your family, here is where you should try shopping in Istanbul:

Carters

https://www.cartersoshkosh.com.tr/address/stores/

This is one of the most popular stores worldwide. They have a huge range of baby clothes and products, with very stylish selections for your little one. If you are searching for a gift or for your own child, go to one of the Carters shops in Istanbul. There are a total of six shops, four being on the European Side.

Chicco

https://www.chicco.com.tr/

Another popular store worldwide. At Chicco they specialize especially in baby accessories: bottles, pacifiers, strollers, car seats etc… They also have a range of baby clothes and mother accessories. I’ve put Chicco on the list, because I have noticed a significant difference in price in comparison with the rest of Europe. Also try the Chicco stores at the outlet malls: Viaport Asia Outlet and Venezia Mega Outlet.

Ebebek

https://www.e-bebek.com/

This is a Turkish brand baby store. It is my favorite. We went shopping for our goddaughter and spent at least 3 hours just in one of the stores. They have extremely big stores, some of them are like supermarket big. At Ebebek you can find exactly everything. The range of clothing is immense and they provide good quality materials and several are made from organic cotton.

Besides clothing, there is also a huge range of accessories: bottles, strollers, car seats and lots of toys. The best part is that everything a mother will need, is also here: from prenatal care to postpartum. The price tags for every item are way lower than in the rest of Europe.

Another good idea is to visit the Ebebek Outlet at Viaport Asia Outlet.

If you are expecting, shopping for baby items in Istanbul is super fun and super productive. You don’t have to wander around the whole city or buy things from totally different parts of the town. They are all to be found in malls or outlet malls. For us, shopping in Istanbul, no matter what items we have searched for, was extremely…Travelicious.
