I could not think of a better title for this article. The Red Sea is truly the most beautiful aquarium. Swimming in the Red Sea is like swimming in a tank full of exotic fish and the most perfect turquoise water. It is like you are a character in “Finding Nemo”. The main reason why we for sure return to Egypt, besides the history, culture and food, is the most beautiful sea we have ever seen.
When we return from the Caribbeans, people asked: “How is the sea? Is it as beautiful as in the pictures?”, but our honest answer was: “Yes. It is beautiful but it doesn’t compare to the Red Sea”.
We grew up seaside, we travel mostly where we can find water, we sail the seas and love the sand, we are water lovers. When our trip to Egypt crossed our mind, it was difficult to figure out how to plan in, in order to have more time for snorkeling and swimming. After all, we did manage to do all the things we wanted and to enjoy the little Nemos swimming with us.
Scuba Diving
For me it was the first time to try scuba diving, for my husband not. I was quite scared at the beginning, because it was something new and I didn’t know what to expect and how the whole breathing situation will go.
The driver took us from the hotel, and went to the pier where the scuba-diving boat expected us. We were quite a large group, from different hotels. The sailing till the scuba spots was also very fun, we had a little party on the boat and all the people were super nice and super fun. There were four instructors and each had 6 groups of 2 people for each dive. We were told if we have time at the beginning or after the dive, we can stay in water for snorkeling.
Me and Toma, were the second group to go down and because of being my first time, I preferred to stay and watch what was going to happen. My heart was beating so fast and my emotions were over the top.
Worth the anxiety before
It is necessary to wear a diving suit and they will hang some weights around your waist, to be able to dive deeper. After equipping, they put our oxygen and the entire system and waited on the deck and after putting our mask on, they pushed us in water. The emotions were even higher, but than it happened: the beauty, the majestic underwater kingdom, the most beautiful aquarium, the perfect screensaver, was in front of our eyes. It is so incredible, so spectacular, that one can only imagine if they had the chance to be there.
I was so mesmerized, that I have forgotten to swim. Me and Toma were holding on the instructor, him being in the middle. I was so captivated by what was in front of my eyes, that they were swimming and literary carrying me. It was an incredible moment. The beauty of the corals, the multitude of colorful fish, the beautiful watercolor, the underwater plants, everything is spectacular.
After our dive was completed, we stayed longer for snorkeling and for my excitement, we sailed to the second point for scuba-diving. Again, the whole scuba experience was unbelievable and everything from this trip was perfect. Next time we are in Egypt, we will do it more than once, for sure.

Snorkeling
This is what we did every day. The hotel we have stayed (Titanic Royal in Hurghada) has a wonderful beach and the entrance in water is smooth. This beach is also great for children because the water gets deep very hard, you will probably have to walk about 200 meters to reach a water depth of 1 meter. When we reached that depth, we crossed path with beautiful corals and lovely fish. Swimming near them was amazing, but we cheated and brought some bread from the restaurant and feed them. They were gathering near us and were playing along. The whole bunch of Nemos were our aqua friends. Whenever we entered the water, they will come near us, probably hoping for food.
Perfect all the way
The whole vacation to the coastal part of Egypt, was one of our favorites. For us, no other beach or sea compares to the ones we have seen here. Swimming in this perfect temperature water, alongside the most beautiful underwater creatures, was amazing. We could not recommend more a trip to Egypt, to have the chance to swim alongside Nemo.
